BLACK AND WHITE MENTALITY

BLACK AND WHITE MENTALITY

Studied extensively the sharp contrast in modifications between the African continent and others and the more I reflect on this absurd peculiarities, the more I come to terms with the glaring facts that the problem with the 'blacks' especially 'Africans' is that of mentality.
The thought process is completely flawed down here. We are wired to look outside ourselves for solutions. Blame game well recycled which take us five steps forward and three steps backwards. The cerebral processing is wired to fixate "logical" blame to everything but ourselves. There must be reasons outside us for everything bad that happens in the polity. To the best of my own knowledge, looking at the countries of the world thriving amidst the harsh realities, They understood their predicaments at a point in time and administered specific, lasting internal solutions to them.

Doesn't it surprise you that solutions that brought respite elsewhere doesn't when applied in our clime? We want to apply cosmetic, foreign approach to peculiar African questions.
The above captured in graphical details is the reason we have remained retarded and stunted in growth in all facets of our life as a nation. Nigeria is a mockery amongst the committee of Nations. Spoken about in small jokes and riddles. A country with great potentials but...
No one is a failure until when he or she begin to blame someone elsewhere for their misfortunes. This has been Nigeria's predicament. The British people are the cause. They plundered us greatly and that's why we are playing below average. That recurring, disgusting poverty mindset that stems from slavery and colonization. Since the era of colonisation, we have stuck to that single story and have refused to move on. We had continued to chant that part of the discuss like a mantra. A bad mindset configuration.
Other countries of the world like India, North and South Korea and Singapore have used the little at their disposal and moved farther away from poverty. India which used to be the poorest nation of the world have left her seat for Nigeria who holds the title right now. We must learn to look inwards. We must learn to internalize the lessons from our actions in the past.
Slavery and colonization breeds mediocrity. This is Nigeria's problem, Our low self esteem have blinded us from seeing beyond our nose. We do not see ourselves as "champions" instead we blame colonialism and imperialism as our problems of which they might be but for how long would we peddle that logic, We put up conveniently with poor standard of living as Nigerians and blame the government for all our woes.
Government?
One is tempted to ask at this juncture, who is the government? Who is this government we complain about on daily basis. The reality is far from comforting. You and I is the government we criticize. We expect the government to do everything. You hear people say repeatedly, The Nigerian Government have refused to respect their end of the social contract. How true or not this single story is, our response to it is where the solution hide.

The Government cannot do everything for us. We must begin to reorient ourselves. The mentality must change if anything meaningful will come out of this zone. There is a place for you and I to play active role if truly we want to achieve all our set goals and objectives.
Vision 2020? Pfft---- Long dead.
A country run by persons with no managerial dexterity and skill set. Once you fought in a war, you become head of state and government. No adequate testing of ability to manage people ab-initio. Nigeria is a country that cannot be understood without snapping hands in disgust. It is a country where everything that negates progress play out comfortably. We placed people without character ,integrity and consciousness as leaders ----scratch that, I call them position occupants repeatedly and it is simply logical that we have no results thus far. Endless rat race, round and round we go.
The problem of this country is me.
The problem of this country is you.
